Death of the Celica
http://pressroom.toyota.com/photo_li...ml?id=20040716
I didn't buy one cause i thought they were a bit overpriced -- bit very nice cars none the less. I was lookin forward to seein where else Toyota would take these cars in styling and performance -- but i guess we won't now.
I know Toyota's offering for sports cars isn't limited to the Celica.. but how do yall think this will affect TRD? Maybe they are discontinuing this line to bring back another infamously favorite car?
Bottom line -- i think bad move on Toyota's part.
Thoughts? Comments? Cheesy Poofs?

Two very nice vehicles. Sad news. Just sold my 2000 Mr2 Spyder, and it hurt to get rid of it. On the bright side let's just have confidence Toyota will be looking into the future and giving us some really great new options (I have all the confidence in the world they will). The Solara convertible is hot, but the Z Roadster is the HOTNESS!

i think theyre making way for the scion shit. i would guess that the celica and mr2s were aimed at the younger buyers, and scion is supposed to be the "youth division" of toyota, so it makes sense. i just wish toyota would come out with another supra-like car.

I think they should go big and do a RWD Celica. Don't get rid of it, change it..
Maybe do a factory turbo MR2.. That would blow pretty much everything in that price range away, but sales would still probably be slow because of it's two seater impracticality..
