I am looking for a car to get me back and forth to school (25 mi each way) 4 days a week and back and forth to work 2 days a week. I need a 4 door so I can get my daughter in the car. But i still want something fun to drive. I am not looking to spend a ton of money on a beater. Trying to stay <$6000. I was thinking a Golf or maybe a G20 or even a Volvo S40 or Audi A4 but if you all can give me a few more ideas that would be very helpful.

I'd go with a 4 door subaru impreza. They're pretty reliable, look nice with basic mods and have just enough power for you to have a decent time with. Not to mention AWD is a great feature to have in a beater/dd

Aren't the WRX small though? Rode in my friends peanut WRX and it was pretty cramped and I'm not a big guy.

chevy suburban would have plenty of room for yer kid(s) and they're fun to drive cuz people in all the other little gay cars are scared of you

 

I've never considered WRXs to be a particularly small car, they have plenty of room for adult passengers in back as long as the people in the front aren't 6 foot + and a nice big trunk.

 

I would love to get an Impreza but the wife said no more Subarus because i totaled my '05 Legacy GT and my brother in law totaled his '04 WRX so she basicly thinks they are cursed. I would love to find a nice 4 dr 5spd RWD but there arent many out there. I mean really what is there 7 and 9 series Volvo. I had also considered a Saab 9-5 but have heard horror stories. anyone know anything about saabs?
