Car theft is getting out of hand..
There have been various posts of stolen cars, or cars being broken into. Sung has even started a page dedicated to stolen cars in hope of deterring further incidents (Stolen). The most recent of thefts occured 2 days prior to this post. The car stolen was a 2000 Honda S2000, in the Salem area. These thefts are happening a little too close to home for most and at home for some. Understandably there isn't much to be done since these cars have security and are still ending up missing. The thieves are quite stealthy and obviously experienced. So our options are very limited.
It can be anyone's guess as to who is stealing from Virginia's citizens. The skill and tools used can provide some insight into the background of these thieves. The apparent knowledge of security alarms could be contrived as current or previous security alarm retailer/installer. Possibly a group of people from "out of town". Maybe some locals that have watched the higher-end cars. Either way, cars are being stolen.
I have one question, what is the state proposing to do about these rash of crimes? I have no accusations as to what has or hasn't been done. My concern is with the actions to be taken. As a fellow "DragVA'er", and car owner, I am feel obligated to inquire. I will be contacting our local and state legislature in order to bring more light onto these illegal goings-on. I suggest action to be taken by all to protect our community and our cars.
Sorry for such a long post, but after reading about the S2000 and how close it was to my home.. I couldn't help but post.

Re: Car theft is getting out of hand..
If your car alarm goes off at night, or day, I suggest just locking up and going out for a random drive. Go to a different store, shop, park, anything. Find new ways to dissable your car over night, imobilize it, or make it impossible to move it without noise. Extra battery/batteries for your car alarm stashed deep in your car.
