buick century vs. vw beetle
Friend will be inheriting a used 2004 vw beetle with 45k on it from a family member if she wants it. She currently drives a buick century model year 2000 with 110k on it. The buick is in good running condition and otherwise tip top shape. always maintained new tires brakes. head gasket. cat. etc. the beetle is of mid level trim package with an auto. not sure the engine but i would assume the vw 2.0..and as far as i know currently needs nothing
what is the better car?
should she just keep the buick?
daily commute is 35 miles and the buick is a gas hog. somewhere under 20 mpg but I know (no offense to the the vw people) that generally speaking those new beetles were junk.
any input would be appreciated

Those VWs are unreliable money pits.
It's undoubtedly the nicer of the two cars, but if I were driving 35 miles every day i'd probably keep the Buick.
Or better yet sell the VW Beetle and buy something else.

Re: buick century vs. vw beetle
This is like asking "which is better, getting shot or getting stabbed?"...
I have a serious hatred of those Buicks (actually most Buicks), so I'd say the Beetle. They're not without their flaws though. If the car is inherited, why not keep both of them?

if she's hot, then get the cute beetle.
if she looks like her face caught on fire and someone put it out with a spork, stick with the buick so no one will look at her.
