Bugatti Pulled from lake goes to auction
A 1925 Buggati Brescia that was pulled from a lake in Switzerland last summer auctioned for $368,686 in spite of missing parts, rust, and other damage. The car was probably abandoned in Lake Maggiore in the mid 1930s.

Seems to me Bugatti's have a knack for winding up in lakes.
Edit: Can a admin please remove a 'g' from the thread name? Thanks.

A lake in that region can preserve things fairly intact.
A great example are the Lake Nemi ships. They sunk Around 42 AD and were salvaged in 1927. The hulls were largely intact a pretty amazing feat considering they were wood and had been submerged for nearly 2,000 years.
