if its designed to work as the factory unit did, as an OE replacement it is legal...regardless if aftermarket or not. It doesnt really matter though for a Blow off valve. most of the general population/cops have no clue what it is/does. Ive never heard of a person failing inspection or being pulled because of their blow off valve.

I agree on all counts. I recommended against running a BOV on a 1.8t though. It'll work, but recirculating is way better for them. He has an intake so a DV will give him the same sound.

many cops (not on purpose,saw them after i got into boost..)have heard mine go off with no more than a "wtf" was that look

Bah, a bov will just make him stumble rich between shifts. Throw in a chip, go with a straightpipe, no muffler, and spit flames. Well maybe a muffler. Plus throwing codes is super cool too.

I'm sure he'll love all that....just for the sound.

Off topic for Mike (guy asking guestion about BOV): Look here for a install for that boost gauge man. You don't have to have that brass t-fitting. A little plastic tee will work.
