yes, its basically an M3 w/ out the motor.

If you are buying it for the LSD don't. Most of us are looking into swapping it out for 3.46 with a 40% locker. Factory Five speed M3 is a 3.15 with a 20% locker. Auto M's are 3.23 with 20 as well. If you want stock gearing you can buy them for around 300-500 with stock gears and LSD. And that will bolt into any E36 but a TI

 

3.15, that's pretty tall, wonder how much faster the 0-60 and 1/4 will be with a 3.46

 

I've known quite a few iS's with lsd's, maybe they were on some but not all?

 

NO IS came with LSD none what so ever

ok. The letters all have significance, I will try to remember them all:

I = injected
C = depending on chasis, usually convertable but can be coupe
S = sport
T = touring(wagon usually)
X = all wheel drive

letter placement affects meaning as well. For example:cic is coue convertible, xit all wheel drive wagon, etc.
