Subies hate anything but recirc BOVs.. The ECU is too smart for it's own good, WRX ECUs are insanely well designed, and don't like air metering problems that come from atmo or hybrid BOVs.

 

Depending on the extremities of the set up yes. If his mods are what his profile says. He shouldn't have an issue running an open atmosphere blow off valve. I ran one fine on my set up. Just a lot of the bov's like to leak. I would run a recirc valve for any basic set up where the factory ecu still the majority of control.

vortech. have one on my car and love it. doesnt blow off until the car gets into boost. sounds like the bov from the skyline from 2 fast 2 furious.

 

+1. While not a wrx, I am using a MAF still, and run a turboxs recirc'd. Work's great for me.

 

Buying a bov that might be fake would be stupid.

If your bov "blows off" while your in boost something is wrong...

Thats a load of shit. They are not made with the same quality parts. They have a tendency to break, fall apart, not seal, etc. Why don't you do a search on google or another forum about the differences between a real and fake ssqv.
