B18 Vs. B16 ???
Can anyone explain the advantages and disadvantages of putting a B16head on a B18 Block compared to putting a b18 head on b18 block?

Re: B18 Vs. B16 ???
B16 head flows 10% more air at a faster rate than the B18 head. However the B18 head's combustion chambers are smaller than the B16 head. resulting in slightly higher compression. Also, this belongs in Tech Talk.
Edit: The Type-R head has the best of both worlds.

Re: B18 Vs. B16 ???
I would expect you to have already known this from years ago. It's a fact that the B16/B18C5 ports are larger than the B18c1. This has been around since the late 90's. I have no idea who initially did the test but yes it was proven that the B16A head Flows 10% more air (cfm?) over the B18c1. And I do remember seeing some kind of proof back in the day. Look it up I'm sure you can pull the data sheets off the honda-tech archives. I don't really care enough to do the homework.

nope. that is 100% bs. if that were the case, if you take an 84mm built bottom end, and put them same intake mani, Tb, header, and all other parts the same and only change the head from a stock gsr to a stock b16, you would see 15-25 whp difference. obviously thats not the case. so therefore no way in hell.
I'm not saying one head isn't better, just saying its no where close to 10%.
