he is sending you in the right direction, Look at your local pawnshop/ cash converters. I have seen the 12'' type r's in a ported box for 300 bux. Good quailty and they have the ability to get loud.

lol umm http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...?model=SPR-17C for starts. hella lot cheaper of ebay. and for teh subs. i thinks someone is selling 2 apline typr r's 12's on other for sale. for like 200 which isnt bad price there 200 each new. i got brand new all alpine in my car the speakers are clear as shit. and the subs are redic.sounds good

i go alpine type r speakers in front and back. i got a 450 amp. if i remember rite for my speakers. and just a 850 for my subs. ( i had insurance moeny to blow. sense my old system got stolen. lol i dont no how much u got to spend on this.) im not looking to run 500rms on the subs. on my amp just turned on the lowest setting it can hit hard enough. lol they sound reallly really good tho

the new RF stuff is A L O T better than the junk they have been producing for the past 5+ years ... you might be pleasantly surprised

as far as a good budget system

DECK - Alpine CDA-9883

SPEAKERS - CDT Audio CL-6EX (or whatever size respectively, ... if u can still find pioneer REV's also a very good choice)

AMPS - Memphis PR series ( had a PRD 1000.1 running at .5ohm for more than a year , also love us amps)

SUBS - RE sr12 or Mach5 Maw12

uglyDC has a great idea for a reasonably priced audio system... I actually have nearly the same system and I'm surprised.
