I got an email from Ariel about the AAE event at VIR. Has anyone ever considered this? It seems kind of pricey, but it's most likely something I wont be able to experience ever again.

AAE - Silver

Ariel Atom Experience Silver provides an introductory format for Atom and driving enthusiasts. Participants receive a classroom session on basic high-performance driving techniqe and 3 on-track sessions in which one-on-one instruction is provided by professional instructors. The first session, prior to lunch, provides an orientation to both the Atom and the track. After a catered lunch, participants return to the track. The AAE Pace Car increases the pace throughout each session, culminating in Session 3 with a "pass by" scenario whereby by drivers get to experience the thrill of open-lapping with the Ariel Atom.

Ariel Atom Experience Platinum represents our premium package. AAE Platinum is designed to give you ample opportunity to push the limits--both the Atom's and your own. You will benefit from professional classroom instruction on high-performance driving and racing technique and work one-on-one with a professional instructor to hone your skills and get the most out of the experience that is driving an Ariel Atom. We will work within your comfort zone, bringing the pace up gradually in the morning using the AAE Pace Car. In the afternoon, we will remove the Pace Car entirely and you will experience the driving nirvana that is sitting behind the wheel of an Ariel Atom with an open track ahead. The AAE Platinum package is an experience like no other. AAE - Platinum Plus

In response to frequent requests from past clients, we are happy to introduce our latest package: AAE Platinum Plus. Several of our clients have expressed the desire to return to the AAE and be able to participate in an advanced format designed to build upon the lessons learned (and fun had!) in their first AAE event. Platinum Plus offers all the benefits of the standard AAE Platinum event, but provides a logical next step for those seeking to take the experience to the next level. After just one lead/follow orientation session, drivers will get to experience five open-lapping sessions with controlled passing zones. Participants will work one-on-one with professional instructors on advanced driving technique. In the afternoon, drivers will have the option of driving solo while instructors observe from various external vantage points, providing further analysis. Classroom sessions provide advanced theory with formal instruction on various subjects including traction management, skid recovery and heel/toe downshifting. While Platinum Plus is designed for AAE alumni, some new participants may enrol if advanced high-performance driving experience can be demonstrated.

I wish I could afford this (or the actual car). The Atom is my dream car, no matter what I do I must own one before I die.
