Reading the reviews online are all over the map.... some people are in love with them, others think they're junk. The two main cons that seemed present throughout the reviews were poor wet traction/hydroplaning and soft sidewall prone to damage.

I'm considering a set for my Corvette vert because I have new front wheels coming and the tires I have on there currently (BFG KDWs) aren't made anymore. The KDW2 gets so-so reviews and the Nitto beats it on price to the tune of $50/tire.

Look at the NT05's. My wife has them on her Mustang and they have great wet weather traction and stick pretty good on the dry too.

I ran them on my wagon, and thought they were a decent good tire. I have sold a few sets of them and never heard a complaint.

your absolutely right about your assumptions, but have you given thought to the Nitto Invo's at all? I mean, I could be wrong but I've heard nothing but good things about them, although the price probably isn't very attractive imo.

I'm looking for more of a DD tire for this car... the NT05s look a bit too aggressive and I don't like the INVO tread design at all.

Have the 555R on mine and on Jens shelby. I have the 555's on the front and have no complaints

I've driven several cars with 555's and they are good for the first 6 months, and then they get hard as rocks and suck badly. Six months may be generous.

Don't do it.

Thanks Kevin... what's your preference for a resonably priced tire that performs adequately? My next in line is the KDW2.

do you not like the looks/price of the vred's?? they are hugely popular in the vette community, just check their forums...
