WS9 is a the RPO code from 1993 to 2002 that Pontiac used when they made a Firebird into a Formula. It was also meant to signify the "Pheonix package" in 1976 to 1981.

Basically, every Formula produced between 1993 and 2002 is a WS9, but the badges are aftermarket.

And WS7 is an aftermarket thing that many people use when they convert their Formula/Trans Am over with a WS6 hood, they call it a "WS7" since technically it wasnt ever created by Pontiac. Basically, a WS7 is a fake WS6.

From what I have heard WS7 is when you convert any of the TA's or Firebirds to TRUE ram air, WS6 included. It inolves getting the hood and sealing the airbox so the only air entering the engine is through the ram air scoops. The WS6 technically isnt "true" ram air. There is still an opening in the bottom of the air box to draw air from underneath, and the hood when closed doesnt seal to the airbox. There's just a taller lower airbox there to take in more air provided by the additional openings, but it isnt sealed when the hood is closed.

WS7 is fake though, its not an actual GM RPO code at all.

then firehawk, but they're just option levels... some formula owners defend their cars to the death.

Plus the TA comes pretty much loaded(Leather, Monsoon stereo with 12 Disc Changer, etc.). The Formula is the performance bargain of the two, although in the last of the years it was rare(only a little more than 900 in 2002).

Not all TA's have the CD changer or Monsoon radio. They're options available for any of the F-bodies.
