anybody into cart racing?
a friend of mine recently bought his son a cart (full fiberglass bolt-on body, 5hp, fully adjustable suspension etc) to race. it supposedly was very successful at langley and theyre runnin it down at dixieland raceway this season. i got a chance to look through one of his cart magazines but didnt really get any good info from it. has anyone on here ever built or raced/tuned/worked on racing carts? it looks fun as hell and ive heard those little things hit close to 80mph in the straights. id like to build a wheel-to-wheel car in the very near future but to do that id have to stop some things im trying to finish so i might buy a cart instead. anyone?
my cousin raced carts and minicups @ langley for like 7 years, he was good, but he's just a big dude, like 6 foot tall by age 14 big, soooo weight kinda killed him when he was racing against 5' 5" 120 pound kids
There's a guy that comes out to some of the auto-x's with a shifter cart and he always get's the fastest times. I beleive he's selling it with the trailer for around $7,500. It's rediculously fast for something that small.
I know you said you wanted to go to the carts in Richmond with us, even though there not as fast they are the same size and same aluminum chasis and tire's, hey it's a start. We did talk to the owner of G-Force and they are opening one in Portsmouth this may with two tracks! I'm gonna be broke as hell.
