Default All motor header suggestions.

Im trying to find a header that makes the most useable power while retaining ac and power steering.

Im trying to stay with a 4-2-1 because i have clearance issues and im not trying to bust up a $600.00 header.

Its will be going on a poor man's type r and im looking to gain both horsepower and torque to closely make 230whp.

Price is not really a issue although im trying to stay around $6-$700.00

Any suggestions/tips are appreciated.

Although you've got a great mild n/a setup, but you're not going to make 230whp.
Not hating!

For starters, your only 81.5mm and in this game there really is no replacement for displacement. Most 2.0 ltr motors struggle to break the 230whp barrier.

Next on the list would be your compression. I think that with 11.5:1 is a bit on the low side for 230whp. At the minimun I would be 11.8:1 and would not exceed 12:5.1 on pumped gas. I'm sure there are a few who have broke 230whp at 11.5:1 but not at 81.5mm.

The sk2 st2 although a great mild build cam is not quite enough to get 230whp even with a fully built 2.0l motor.

Personally I think that AEB's manifold sux and are nothing more than a cheap clone of a clone. If you want the best mid level manifold...the OEM ITR/CTR manifolds are the ticket. And since we are on the manifold...shitcan all that ITR stuff you mentioned.

The ITR throttlebody is only 62mm and you'll need atleast 65mm to 68mm just to get a built motor to breathe. ITR injectors are nothing but 240cc injectors no matter what anybody tells you. For 200whp+ you going to need a set of 320cc and 440cc if you want to break into the 240whp+

The biggest thing I notice...or didn't notice in this case was a Hondata. Without a Hondata to tune...a $100k motor built by god himself will not do much more than 200whp. You have to have the ability to tune. Rule #1

And the last thing I've noticed is that you going to need a REAL coil. Stock coils work great on stock and mild built motors, but when you start to push for those big numbers...a stock coil just doesn't have the kick.

And finally, as far as headers goes, there's a reason they make $800-1200 headers...because they make real power. IMHO any header that cost less than $800 isn't worth the box it came in when it comes to making power.

First and foremost DTR and hytech headers can be had for around 5-700 dollars.

Its has 440 injectors.
70mm throttle body is in the works.
Compression is not a issue.I made more power than a 13.1 fully built type r motor.
I never mentioned anything about what it will be tuned on.
Aebs has proved to gain around 15hp,i had a type r i/m i sold it.

All motor ls/vtec's have made around 215/220 whp,on stock bore.
B20 vtecs on stock bore have made around 245whp.
I already am pushing 210/212 whp im not sure now because ive changed alot since it was tuned, and the old header was crushed.

So heres a slight guess
Current-210whp on CROME
70mm throttle body and whale penis-5whp
DTR/Hytech header-10-15hp

Compression is 11.5:1 pistons, but needless to say my head was shaved 10/1000 along with a .025 headgasket compared to the usual .032/.034 stock one.

Total-225/230 whp

Those are just predictions from looking around and seeing what power each above make compared to stock form.

Sooooooooooooo-230whp on a 81.5mm bore is achieveable.
