i had trouble with them in my 88 grand am turbo. i was a high 14 second car in 98 mine was 2.0 ohc non intercooled. but i had alot of shit done to it. went from a 16.8 car to a high 14, then after i gave up trouble shooting a power loss problem. dropped it off at a junkyard.

How can you say that. Thoes things were prety quick. Ive seen them do 13s with a couple of upgrades. Alot of the power came from the Lotus designed head on them.

because he doesnt know what the fuck hes talking about. back in 98, ask yourself (himself?)what was the fast time for a turbo car. oh wait, there WERENT any. i remember turbo 4 class at mir being me, gray from millenium and inline pro and thats it. we all ran 14's. now turbo4 class has 100+ like the NA fwd class, and the bump spot is mid 11's. keep talking shit about a turbo car.

^ your best friends... if you can find one thats not completely rusted out, any 80's turbo chrysler makes a good quick track car. just make sure you get one with a chrysler engine, some turbo chryslers had a mitsu 4g63T... liuke the turbo colts, and the conquests, for example.

there are four flavors of the 80's 2.2L turbo engine, named (for obvious reasons) I,II,III,IV. the turbo 1,2,4 engines were SOHC, the turbo 3 was the only DOHC, the head was manufactured by lotus but is notorious for breaking

turbo I-
2.2L turbo non-intercooled
150HP

turbo II
2.2L turbo intercooled
forged crank (not sure about the other internals)
174HP

turbo III
forged internals
224HP

turbo IV
same as turbo @ except it used a VNT turbo to eliminate turbo lag and made more torque than the turbo 2. stay away from these, they're more expensive to mod.

there were also some 2.5L turbo, but i don't remember too much about them.

turbo lancers came with either the turbo II, or a 2.5L turbo
a very select few also had suicide doors... if u can find one of those, you're the man.
