68-82 vette's...
Always been my fav body style of the vette since i was a kid....i seen one on the interstate today and it got me thinking....
What are these running $ wise now? If i'd get one id want a decent body and at least it to be running.
Aftermarket possibiltys?
Anymore info would be helpful, if anyone knows about em.

Yep, OPEC royally fucked those cars. Nothing like a v8 that makes under 200hp
I think anything before 72 is good.. Opec started 73-74 right? Or 72?

yeah prices drop like a rock on most "muscle cars" around 72 or 73 depending...as far as aftermarket though you can drop a 350 into any of them vettes 68-82 is quite a range too...you won't be able to touch most 68-70 corvettes.

I mean not only that but what would really stop you from gutting them and doing a carburetted (sp) 350 or a big block and a decent driveline
After all who check's older cars for things like cat converters and all that emissions stuff

all of those vetts are caburated. Fuel injection didnt start until 84 for those vettes. I would try to get something that came w/o cats from the factory, its that much less of a hassle. 73 or 74 is when they started. Other than that, you can drop any chevy engine in any of them, that wont be a big deal. I believe all of them had the irs so with power that becomes an issue. And if you want a manual(and you should ) dont settle, you can find manuals for just a little more.
