600+whp stock bottom-end GSX
Not sure what section this goes in... actually was a couple days ago but I was too busy finishing up last minute stuff for the DSM shootout I didn't have time to post about it.
Went to the dyno to finish up the tune a car that has been running around the streets here all summer. Tuned it on low boost a while back on the dyno then later on high boost on the street. Now went back to the dyno to fine tune the high boost tune. This thing has been beaten on all summer like this..
Car needed new plugs, that's why the torque goes stupid.. had a shitty tach pickup with weak plugs.
Car is a 98 Eclipse GSX -
STOCK BOTTOM END!
stock ignition
stock tranny
Tuned on AEM EMS, by yours truly
He's Gonna finish the season on this stock motor then pull it to build up this winter I think. will go back once more when it gets cold to see what she'll do in the cold before yanking it. I have a feeling it'll be a long time before the true limits of a stock 4G63 are proven.
Since I know it's going to be asked.. the setup is nothing fancy, just off the shelf bolt on parts properly put together with a good tune.
stock 4g63 bottom end
Intake/exhaust/FMIC/Fuel, etc, the usual
BC280 Cams
GT35R
AEM EMS
sunoco 110 fuel + a good tune

Re: 600+whp stock bottom-end GSX
It's a 1/4 mile car. No times for it yet.. it's a full weight car on radials so it's kinda heavy.. i'd guess it should go mid-low 10s. It doesn't have a cage, d-shaft loop, or any of that.. so a trip to the track isn't really top priority at the moment.
can always come up this way if the car is drivable. I travel for the right price but i don't think you want to know the bill for a 4 hour each way road trip
