4th GEN RX7!!!???
I bet stock for stock, an RX8 would be almost dead even (if not faster) than a RX7. It's pitting the same amount of horsepower (basically) against a decade old chassis with bad gearing (in my opinion, don't flame) with a new-age design and a 6-speed tranny. The RX8 has a factory set 9k rpm redline (from what I've heard) and the RX7 only has an 8k (if I remember correctly).
It's my opinion that ALOT of people are in for a surprise. I really like the RX8 and I want one.

it's Mazda's nationwide autox tour featuring their new Mazda6 sedan. $39 gets you the chance to thrash Mazda's 6 around an autox course, and get pro instructions.
on top of that, the RX-8 will be shown at each and every Rev It Up event!!! I already signed up for the FedEx Field event in July, can't wait!!!

so it is possible to accidentally bounce the tach into 10k...

"How much quicker, faster, and more exciting would a two-seat version be? If Mazda brass decides that the RX-8 is a success, it could approve a new RX-7 two-seater for '06. The car on the drawing boards will have a wheelbase 11.8 inches shorter, weigh 330 pounds less than the RX-8, and get a significant bump to 280 or 300 horsepower. Styled with a low hoodline, it'll be either a conventional coupe or a retractable hardtop. Stay tuned."
