In terms of sheer power, in a "streetable" car, a built 4G63, as many have proved (AMS, Buschur, etc etc) is a force to be reckoned with and tough to beat on a dyno.
But I mean whats "best" is really a matter of opinion because so many things can factor in to this equation. But IMO, yes, a 4G63 is probably the most badass 4-cyl ever built.

IMO the 4G63 is absolutely the best 4 cylinder ever made. It can handle 400+ HP on the stock internals and with a really good tune some have made into the 500 ballpark. A 6 bolt 4G63 crankwalking is extremely rare. I have had 3 and I have worked on 10+ dsm's owned by friends. None of which ever crankwalked. But they were beast ass cars. However, when it comes to reliability.......
There are proven how to's rolling around on how to put your 1g AWD in the 12's for under $2k. That's pretty impressive if you ask me.

I bet theres more 1000+hp 4g63's they any other 4cylinder in the U.S,

many engines can do the same with the same amount of money invested. As for 400whp with $2000 Im almost sure that it cant be done that cheaply.
