Should be interesting to see what kind of MPG it gets in the real world, but congrats to ford. They've almost caught up to the LS1

Yes, the supposed talk is a DOHC 5.0L, code named the coyote, thats suppsoed to make 400 hp and 400 tq.

They have never made a modular motor with that much displacement. Your not comparing apples to apples. Yet their new 5.0L makes 400 hp. with .7 less displacement than a ls1.
The point of the article was, that the 6 cylinder makes the same power and gets the same gas mileage as the v6 camaro, yet weighs 400 lbs less.
Ls1's getting 30 mpg, isn't some magical GM engineering feat, alot of it has to do with the .50 6th gear and skip shift.
