Its not the American Muscle Car Icon that it was. Argue all you want, The GNX was the LAST American Car deserved to be called a Muscle Car. The muscle car age is over and will never be revived, they need to stop trying on cars like this..

They're attaching that name to a car that should be all-around better than the previous car that had that name. I don't understand what the major foul is. Why cares if it's not made by Buick? Buick Regal, Pontiac Grand Prix, Chevy Monte Carlo, and the extinct Olds Intrigue...hmmm...same FWD [BOLD]GM[/BOLD] W-Body, same car, diff name, and panels...so what would make a Buick Regal GNX sooooo much different from a PONTIAC Grand Prix GTP based platform, which is based off of the same Monte Carlo platform??? the same thing as a Buick Regal GNX based off of the Pontiac GTO, which is also based off....

i guarantee you that if GM were to put a TT V6 in the Regal(FWD), there would be the same thing in a GTP, and Monte Carlo, as well as if

The major foul is that the Grand National is one of the most amazing vehicles ever produced, and they're attempting to put that name on a Pontiac. A Pontiac.

 

GTO doesnt have that hood, bumper, grille, sides, and fenders...thats the same with the W-Body, cept they have different headlights...hoe well...

if i wanted a GNX, i'd get an original...if i wanted a TT-AWD-V6, i'd get the 2007 Buick Regal GNX, not the 80's, two completely different cars

You're still not explaining what the problem is. The name Grand National is owned by GM. They could put it on an Oldmobile station wagon if they wanted to. Instead they are choosing to put it on a a 400+hp, AWD V6TT that should make a 12s. quarter mile stock. I don't see how those credentials make it any less of a sick car, except you seem to have a hang-up on which GM factory it rolled out of. You have to understand, Buick is not a car company. It's a BRAND of GM car. It's like Altria deciding to market their new type of cigarette under the Marlboro brand instead of the Virginia Slims brand. I don't think the smoking purists will lose sleep over it, so long as it still tastes good to them and gets them their fix.
