I thought I read a few users claim that the GNX on the first page was badged as a Pontiac. It definetely has the Buick badge. Maybe I mis-read something.

Yes, I would rather drive a FWD Buick Grand National than a RWD Pontiac Grand National... then again, I love SHO's, so I'm slightly biased towards full-size FWD layouts.

look, i'm not your friend, i could care less if you chose to end your life because of this very thread so i'll break it down to you so you can understand it without sugarcoating it like blaxican has been trying to do for the past couple pages. you and a few people on this board who are of a similar mindset are just simply upset because you have this ridiculously exaggerated sense of pride/tradition/loyalty that won't allow you to accept the simple fact that these "great american icons" are returning and overlook the minor detail of who built them. you're caught up in a fantasy world where you feel like YOU should be the CEO of GM and that YOUR opinion should be RIGHT.
it doesn't work like that, asshole. there are certain things about running a multi-billion dollar industry-leading business that would overrule your stupid ideals on a car "living up to its name". i'm sure when GM's upper level management was holding a conference to discuss future projects, if a demand from one of the executives for the new GNX just HAVING to be a buick from the ground up was brought up, regardless of the additional costs of engineering an entirely new platform-independent car (i'm sure you'd love a fwd gnx) and building new facilities to produce it, etc. etc. when there's already a good platform that could be transitioned easily PLUS giving the consumer a car reminiscent yet much more capable than the original, he'd get laughed out of the room and fucking fired. let alone what all these additional costs would do to the cost when presented to the consumer. i'm sure there are PLENTY of other reasons GM decided to go this route (if they even go this route) that are beyond all of our comprehension, so just leave the decision-making to the professionals that get paid more than we can imagine and stop your God damned crying.

for all that typing you did, i think you've missed a few points. You are right, we are not CEO's or crusty old board members. We are car enthusiasts, we aren't out to make a buck on these cars, that isn't important to us at all. There are people who care about brand loyalty and there are people who care about the history behind a name. You can call us the minority but you would probably be mistaken. Look at the many many car clubs which only allow one type of make allowed. There are tons of them everywhere. If there was no loyalty and people didn't care about any of this then there would be no reason for GM or Chrysler to bring back these names from the past. They use HEMI, GTO, and Charger just for that reasoning.
I usually let you slide with the weak arguments you toss out there because i know you just like to troll for the sake of someone talking to you but adding personal attacks alongside your ignorance shouldn't be ignored.
