2004 Civic Hybrid
Can anyone tell me as much about this car as possible? My fiance may be purchasing one tonight. The car is Honda Certified.
What is the battery life/warranty? I have been told aa 5 or 8 year warranty.
How is insurance?
Repairs, are they typically more expensive?
Most of the "hybrid-ness" is controlled by the ECU right?
Please provide as much as you can!
Thanks in advance!

Re: 2004 Civic Hybrid
I drove my parents hybrid for 2 years in high school and still drive it occassionally. It was a 2005 civic, and i dont think there were any significant differences between the 04's and 05's.
1) theres no need to worry about the battery if you're talking about the one that provides the electric power. theyre supposed to last forever, not sure how long the warranty is.
2) insurance will be more than a regular civic. This is probably a bad comparison, but the insurance on the hybrid cost slightly more than my 3000gt
3) my hybrid has never had a single problem (24k miles), so i cant tell you much about the cost of repairs.
4)sure...
Do i like my hybrid? No. The premium you pay to get a hybrid over a regular civic will not be made up in gas savings. And unless you need to use the HOV lanes, its hard to justify the cost to buy one. It's reliable, and the gas savings are nice, but the same can be said for a regular civic. 2 things about it really piss me off: the engine shuts off A LOT, especially if your in traffic, and it just simply annoys me now. Granted, you can make it not do this but then you're not saving gas. Also, its about as fast as a snail stuck in molasses. Not many people know how to work on them either, so I would recommend taking it to the dealership in this case.
