Regardless of who paid for it, he was obviously not mature or responsible enough to handle a car like that.

Who cares if he bought it or his parents bought it? That's not even the issue, and if it was then yes the parents bought it or at least helped him out a great deal. He was probably on their insurance, lived with his parents rent free, and he worked at a grocery store. Why would you try to contradict everyone to say something like that???

i wonder how fast he was going. i mean shit. if you slide for 400 feet and still have the speed to obliterate a 3500 pound machine you must be flying. what do you guys think?

Saweet. My white C5 just got a little rarer.
http://www.harristechnical.com/skid33.htm Sucks for them, but 700 - 800 ft? Thats at least 125-139mph not counting the energy lost to the pole. No wonder he lost it in that turn. Could have used those rocker panels too.

How did I contradict anyone? All I said was it's not necessarily true that his parents bought the car. Hell, for all we know it wasn't even his car. I do agree that he was obviously too immature to handle a car like that but blaming his parents just doesn't make sense IMO. If they handed him the car or helped the situation along to where he owned one then yes, they should've been smarter than that but the driver made his own decision to be an idiot. That was really my only point.
