there's a 93 integra that I'm bout to buy and its a b18a1. I plan on doin lots of work on it. I'm 16 and this is my first car. I was wondering what the best thing I can do to it first!?!?! I want to put an intake and headers and exhaust in it but I'm not sure else to do. I don't think I'm gona boost it. But just let me know wat ideas u have!!!! Thanx!!

 

decide right now which avenue you want to go down. If you decide to boost, dont waste your money on intake and crappy shit you'll have to remove later anyway. Save your monies!! If you have to buy stuff, get a good suspenson and upgrade your brakes. Then, le boost.

 

First thing you're going to want to do when you get the car is a compression check. Find out the over all condition of the motor. If everything checks out good, then go ahead and start modifing.

coming from me that was in your same situation about 7 years ago..


go suspension first intake and exhaust are jsut noise....and very limited gains, save the money and get koni yellows/ground controls.

 

deffinatly go suspension first, i went with kyb gr2's with groundcontrol coilovers and am more than happy with the way it rides, as far as performance goes if your not going boost then i say get a b16 tranny and the obvious i/h/e, that should be more than enough for a 16 year old's first car imo.

 

I was thinking of doing the same thing.. what are the advantages of the B16 tranny, shorter gears? Because if i'm not mistaken its not LSD.. and is it a direct bolt up or would i have to get a bracket.?? Thnks.

 

The first thing that you should do is save up your money so you can pay the deductible to get it fixed when you wreck it and/or the court fees and fines when you get your first speeding ticket.
