I own an 04 Mach 1 & I happened to race, & beat an 01-02 camaro. When i told that to my cousin, & others they didn`t believe me. I have steeda cat-back exhaust & a steeda cold air intake. Why is it nobody believes me when i say I beat a similar sounding ls1? I would think both cars to be pretty even, with the ls1 having a "slight" advantage, but I would like to hear what you guys think.

 

Sounds like you upset some people. Mach 1's and LS1 F-bodys are pretty much even. The only advantage the LS1 has would be top end. I'm just basing that off traps that I've seen from both cars and both being manuals.

 

+1. on average, ls1 fbodies trap slightly more which would help most in a roll race to about 120mph.


from a dig, or anyway in the street, they are too close in performance for it to be a complete upset.

i think my cousin is just trying to compare his camaro to my mustang. which isn`t really a close comparison b/c he has way more money in his ride. then he always complains nobody wants to race him. i think he needs someone on this board to come up to wal-mart york county sat night, and smoke him 1 good time. I'm hoping like a 383 or 408 iron block stroker. If you say he has bolt-on's then LOL at him. Bolt on LS1's are a dime a dozen. I'm an LS1 fan through and through, but they're definitely not unbeatable.

I'm not saying that a bigger cubed car is unbeatable either. Just wanted to clarify that.

 

I think the LS1 should get the democratic nomination for president.
