First thing I would do is take that money out of your hand and put it someplace secure like a bank or a safe don't want to lose it. Then I would try and get an E36 M3 and do work.

if you want a REAL driver's car, don't get an e46 over an e36 m3. i'm surprised nobody mentioned that yet.
i just so happen to have one for sale.
if you're a stickler on mileage you might not like my car, it's got 148k on it... but i've done all the preventive crap, and basically everything the car needed i've replaced or upgraded. i have most of the receipts to prove it, or i could demonstrate if you came to look at it. there's still a few idiosyncracies but imo for the price there's no better car out there.
i'm in md, but my car is within your price range. pm for details if you're interested... i have to update my craigslist ad. if you want to look at what i have up there it's in cl baltimore. i'm asking 10k for it right now, but i've since revised my asking price and will update the ad soon to reflect that.

yeah i'm an IB fan too... obvoiusly. i've put a ton of work/money into my car to get it to where it is... it's a great car. as far as e36's go, this thing is in fantastic shape... and it needs to go because my montego blue e92 335i is on its way...
i'll provide more/better pics as well, as the ones on cl don't do it justice. i'll be in touch tonight if you're interested.
