Make the trek down to CAM and see Jeff Creech... he's the best in this area.

Best at what? Tuning or the installation? Installation wise I am sure he has done as many as anyone else, definitely no issues there, but he is not exactly in the "area". As far as tuning, there are actually quite a few other shops or independant tuners that are just as good if not better and offer far more tuning options than Jeff does, but once again also much closer. The 3 hours drive is quite the haul. If it was me, I would have B&L do the install, and have their tuner SOMD Tuning, come down and tune it.

If people send their car in from the west coast to get Jeff to tune their car there must be something in his tunes that owners can't find anywhere else. I'm not saying Jeff's the greatest tuner in all of the world, so don't take it as that, or even the east coast. I'm just saying 2900 miles is a rediculous long haul for a mediocre tune.

So because some idiot trucked their car to CAM, means they are the best? I mean when the LS1's first came out and tuning just started to become available, people used to take their LS1's to CARTEK. It was not because they were the best, it was because they offered a service that very few performed, and locally it was not available. Very much holds true for CAM, he offered a service that he did that was not easily available at the time. But now you have many more options, being local has its advantanges. Sorry but six additionla hours of driving to adjust a tune for a condition that did not exist the day of initial tuning is alot. Especially when you can get tuned by just as good if not better tuners locally.
By the way take some time and check out a local board out of Durham, you will quickly find that CAM is far from the best in that area. http://www.horsepowerjunkies.com/forums/

First of all, it was more than just one "idiot" from my researches. Two, Do you think I don't know that select people, might I even go as far as to say "a few and FAR between", say they'd rather take their car to a castrated dog to tune their car than CAM? I had a great experience with them and when I was looking around here I found my options to be Virginia Speed. (HAHAHAHA, give me a fuckin' break), Millennium (Do they even know what domestics are? ((Rhetorical question, they're actually decent people, but if you're not a total moron you'll get what I'm saying))), DTP (fuckheads) and SMS (but I don't think they even exist anymore). I'll whole heartedly admit that I never found anyone in this area when I was looking, but I'd rather take my turbo'd camaro to someone that has the experience with turbocharged apps. Than take it to some douchebag that just set up a shop. I hate argueing period, especially across the internet. No one ever wins an arguement, the other person never says, "oh jesus christ what have I been thinking all these years. thank you for correcting me in my error of ways" Regardless, let this be the last time I have to talk about my experiences with Jeff Creech. I think everyone by now knows where i stand and hopefully why I'm holding that position. Just by chance, Bigbake, are you a Republican?

Well good on you, want a thank you card or something for it? Sounds pretty hypocritical then when you say something along the same lines about DTP and yet you think it warrants that no one else should take their car there. So by your statement from above then we should disregard your statement about DTP?

Yet myself and a couple of others have already provided a more than competent mechanic which also has a good tuner available, and they are local compared to CAM. That was the point, I never said any of the others, you just assumed.

It points out how limited your research was, because there are a few really outstanding shops I can think of closer than CAM that have tuned more FI cars, and have the numbers to back them up..... RPM in Richmond, PSI near Baltimore, and F-body Central near Baltimore. As far as some douche bag that just set up shop, B&L have been around for quite awhile on the local boards, many years, and were working on LS1's just as early as anyone else. They have many happy customers and the quality work to stand behind it, and once again they are local.

I hate argueing period, especially across the internet. No one ever wins an arguement, the other person never says, "oh jesus christ what have I been thinking all these years. thank you for correcting me in my error of ways"
Let me help you out by telling you to shut your suck then, because you have made ignorant statements, and have missed the whole point, "someone local that is competent, and stands by their work".

Regardless, let this be the last time I have to talk about my experiences with Jeff Creech.
Well good I was hoping you would shut up.

I think everyone by now knows where i stand and hopefully why I'm holding that position. Just by chance, Bigbake, are you a Republican?
Yeah as a hypocrite...... Fuck DTP..... yet those with the same problems from CAM were just bullshitting. Because CAM is the bestest because people drove their cars from across the country........... Odd don't you think.

Yeah I would give up also if I was you... I mean the exact point I have been stating the entire time and here is a direct statement by you saying the exact same thing......

http://www.dragva.com/forums/showpos...9&postcount=28

"All of my tuning has been done by Jeff down at Carolina Auto Masters. Richmond is closer than Durham is though, maybe i'll take you up on the offer soon."

Another board member stating the obviuos, because that is all Jeff does is WOT tunes.......

I can't say that I'm the happiest with the work I got done there either. I made a 6 hour round trip, paid $400 and used up a day off to get nothing more than a WOT tune. Sure it starts fine when the motor's warm but have you ever heard me start my car when its cold, it sounds like its never been tuned at all. Jeff agreed to fix it but I haven't had the time nor wanted to waste the money driving down there since last summer.

That was my whole point, would suck to travel 7 hours to have someone take 5 minutes and reset your gear ratio in your PCM, or fix something that should be part of the initial tune in the first place.
