18 and up can rent hotels, you just need the money. Car rentals are another thing.
flo w fx is right about the party thing. Best idea is to go out to the beach early in the day and pick up some girls and let them know what you are doing.. party in the hotel room.. and watch as the room fills up.. well if you are good enough.

Yeah I need to get a room down at the beach for friday night (for after prom 
) and I'm only 18. Some of you were saying you can rent at 18 and some said you can't. What if I made my reservations and payment online and all that? Then since I already paid they couldn't do anything about it, right?

My girlfriend just got one at doubletree which is on nineteenth street behind the pavillion. It's like 6 blocks away from the beach so its not real close, but was close enough for us. She's only 18 and it was this past weekend so that might help.
