I have owned several different handguns. Sold all but two (both Glocks). Looking for something new for my wife to carry. Most likely the S&W hammerless.

As for your "test", I'd bet even the most mediocre of 1911s would be capable of the same abuse, however, all the while, they'd be more accurate, more comfortable and look better while doing it.
The reason you don't see threads on the internet of people subjecting their 1911s to this is because they're not disposable. (read: Glock)
