Honestly its because he owns the pictures, not you. Talk to him though and see if you can buy all the pictures from him. Some photogs will do that for their clients.

What you described though is what 98% of pro. photogs. do for weddings. Its standard practice.

$1500 is a very good price too

Well Im just telling you what the profession is like. And honestly you will need to compromise because you not going to get what you want, at the price you want and with the quality you want.

You arent going to go to Wall Mart and say "hey Im not paying $20 for this towel, I want it for $10."

Photography is a profession. There is no negotiating. If you dont like what you hear from one person move on but you're not going to find what you are looking for bro sorry

Did he tell you how many pictures were going to be in the album? Its usually between 200-300. So you want more than that?

I paid 1800 for my pictures, and I didn't get all the pictures back. 1500 sounds like a good price. I like fun pictures and candid pictures, all ours were posed pictures.

Just because the photographer takes 500 pictures doesn't mean that all 500 are gonna be worth a shit.
