TW: VADriven golf outing
It's come to the attention of a few of the Day Crew that a couple of us enjoy playing golf, a la Caddyshack style.
So, we've been talking that maybe getting together, probably this spring, unless we can find a nice day, and playing a round of golf and drinking a few beers. There's even been talk about playing for some money. I don't know about you guys, but my ball goes everywhere but the fairway and the hole. LOL. So, if you guys want to place some side bets, that'd be cool.
So, I guess what we're looking for would probably be a suggestion on when and where we'd like to play. I wouldn't suggest any place too expensive for the greens + cart fees, but play someplace that's pretty decently kept. I've only ever played 3 courses, all in Virginia Beach - Bow Creek, Kempsville Greens and Owls Creek.
Bow Creek isn't a bad course, but it's an older course. Fairways and greens could use some work. Pretty cheap after 1pm.
Kempsville is a nice course too. Fairways are pretty wide open and not too many trees. Greens are pretty decent. Again, pretty decent twilight rates.
Owls Creek is a very nice course. Greens are very well kept and pretty fast. Tee boxes are pretty clean too. Only thing is that this is an executive, par 62 course. Tons of par 3s everywhere. While those are fun, I think it's a pretty challenging course since there's no real fairways for the longer holes, and a lot of water. This might discourage a lot of people from having fun. But, it's $20 with a cart for 18 after 1pm. Not too bad.
So, lets hear it. Any of you other golfers have a suggestion for a decent course that's not too hard and not too expensive? I think we could have a real good time with this.
Tentatively, we're looking at playing at Stumpy Lake.

this is a really bad idea. not in the sense of togetherness, but of the fact that anyone that goes out and plays is going to be kicked off the course for:
1. shagging balls (or shagging the ball girl)
2. drifting on the green
3. drag racing between holes
other than that, good luck!

Very nice course. And I'm pretty sure all of the courses around here stay open all year long. Only if there is a hard frost still on the gound will you have a delay.
