Coming out of the Patrick Henry Mall today, I was behind an SS Camaro with some Dyno shop stickers on the back window. The car was red and black. As he pulled off, I noticed a turbo just behind the rear axle. Anyone know this guy? Pretty cool setup, less the heavy rims.

I haven't seen too many turbo installations like that, mostly because it is a piping nightmare. I'd be interested in hearing what kind of numbers he is producing though.

 

Probably an sts rear mount kit, and more than likely around 450 whp range.

 

There is one that lives here in Williamsburg. It's a red 35th. anniv w/ stripes SS with the rear mount. Very badass.

 

Word... Anything around 400 would be reasonable on a car with that much power to begin with.

 

there was a guy driving a 35th anniv. sts at a fbody meet just recently.

basically all he has is the turbo and a stall and he was claiming 12.3xs

yeah i dont know who it is that lives out there with the STS kit, but something you should know about it is it's actually a innovation for us fbodies because we dont have any engine bay space, and somehow there isnt much lag in the system at all.

My friend Justin has an STS kit on his stock X28 LS1 and he dynoed 473 at the wheels. Pretty impressive.

This guy, if its the same, was at the naval weapons station gym the other morning.. I walked out and he was parked upfront.. I noticed that there was MT slicks (NOT drag tires.. slicks) on the rear and was wondering exactly why he was running around the streets like that.. Then walking around the back of the car I noticed only 1 exhaust tip and just has to look under the car.. Very sexy setup.. The turbo was huge, about the same size as his diff..

I only wish I heard him start it up

 

Thats kinda weak for a FI LS1..
