Default Turbo guru's?

A friend and I are having trouble removing the factory turbo from a 91 Syclone. I am quite sure know one here has the knowledge with this particular truck, but if you are a whiz at turbos and can give some input please let me know. I can get pics of said problem. Basically we could not get it to unbolt from the manifold and exhaust piping. We have very little playing field.

I got PB blast, which worked great on the first two bolts on the housing that the exhaust exits, the third we couldn't get to. The manifold will be even more of a PITA. My thoughts are the motor needs to be broke free and raised a few inches. Then we will need to cut the cat forward exhaust off to run the new exhaust.

This is the reason I really love turbos with V-band flanges on them. No more rusted, frozen, corroded exhaust bolts. Now if only I could afford a turbo like that for my own car...

I got a vf34 you could buy.

I'm considering getting my setup switched to all v-band actually.

I got lucky, my stock turbo has a V band flange, makes exhaust work a breeze.

Cool Re: Turbo guru's?

I had a Simalar Problem on an old Ford Ranger when I put Headers on it I had to jack the truck up and take the tire off to go through the Passanger side fender well to get the exhaust bolts off, try it it may work!
