Yanno I have been thinking about this as I was going to put the apexi N1 exhaust on my car but I know they are loud and I don't want a ticket I wonder if one would benefit from basically taking their muffler and stock piping and simply replacing it with a larger diameter piping and weld that to the stock muffler? some are actually not THAT bad stock. and then you could always play the it's stock officer look, even though you would get the bennies of a larger exhaust I wonder how much of a detriment the factory muffler is....

 

i dont have a muffler. got pulled over once for exhaust, the cop gave me that unapproved shit.

i just told him it never came with one and he let me off. ;p

 

hahahah, so owned. I've talked with a couple of cops and we always have laughs about pulling ricers for exaust. Funny thing is domestics are usually always louder, but I've been told by one cop my vette sounds fucking awesome Obviously no ticket that time or any other, and I've had a loud as shit exaust for over 3 years

I was going to get a pair but I was told they'll cause you to fail VA state inspection because when they are open they don't route the exaust out to the back of the car... have you had any trouble?

 

Well thats because most v8's with exhaust is a pleasant sound. It may just be me, but I find loud exhaust on 4 cylinders annoyingly loud. I have heard a few that are ok, but most are just loud and annoying.

 

gonna have to go with my boys on this one lol... sucks man, but it's part of being in the scene... no matter what anybody says or does, this won't change. im not trying to be a dick but if you hook your car up, then you are going to get tickets. no if's and's or ass's about it, sorry man. it happens to all of us, and the only 3 options are :drive a stock car, a domestic, or get a better paying job and cope with the dick heads.

but for real, if you wanna sell it, pm me. im interested in getting another apexi muffler for my new car. the one on there is obnoxious(*sp) and im gettin kinda sick of it, i miss the throughty(*sp) sound of the dunk on the BMW... oh those were the days... xcuse me while i go to the bathroom

What I meant was use the Stock (prelude) muffler on the apexi N1 cat back pipes.... kinda stealthy but how much loss would one have from just a muffler? not much, the other option (although expensive) is a nice Remus muffler thats identical to the stocker on bigger pipes....
