I did something like this w/ my buddies church. It was called the couch-a-thon. We had teams of like 10-20 people and each team had this old ass couch. You had a list of things to do w/ the couch with different point values and a time limit for the whole thing. It was a blast racing all over va beach w/ this old ass couch in a truck trying to do stupid shit. For example, "Make the couch participate in an olymic event" We went over to FC, out to the football field, and chucked the couch off the bleechers! It was olympic high diving =). Then I did donuts on their football field in the suburban I was driving =) the kids loved it.
Anyway, get some good stuff to do, get a time limit, and get a date. It'd be a blast. It'll take some serious organization to make it work and be fun.

me and a bunch of friends did a Picture scavenger hunt during a christmas party.
Lasted 2 hours.
Actually one of the pictures we had to get was a Mini cooper with a british flag.
Every picture taken had to have one of the team members in it. Bonus points for having both people on the team in the pic. And less points for having no flag on top of the mini cooper.
We need to do something like this on the Peninsula.

thats a saturday. well do it at night (less people on the road)
