Shop that's worth a darn
Hey everyone. I have a 96 Rodeo sitting in front of my house that isn't running. Long story short, it needs a new crank. Maybe it's easier to do a whole engine swap, I dunno. I just drives'em. I hate turning wrenches. And an engine swap is likely to cost more than what I have in the thing already.
I could use a referral or two on shops in the area (Peninsula or Southside) that would be worth a darn as far as rebuilding this thing so it'd last me a couple of years. I've decided it'd probably be better to fix this one than to junk it and buy another beater, ya know?

damn did the crankshaft break/chip on the end where it attaches to the harmonic balancer? thats what happened with my rodeo. you could try to PM "chahonda" . thats who I sold mine to and he was able to fix and resell it
In case you can't see me fuming, then I'll explain that I bought that car. The fix lasted all of 500 miles before it started throwing belts. When I took it in for all new belts, I was shown the crank and messed up crank pulley. I guess I should have figured it out when I saw how few miles had been run off between the time he titled the car and I got it. Or maybe I should have done more than ask "Hey is anything wrong with this car."

And hey, still no shop recommendations.
The shop I work at priced one out for a guy a few months ago, but I don't know what you are prepared to spend. IIRC it was like 2500+ motor and labor.
