Im having a hard time deciding which shop to have install my stroker. AMS tuning in Gathersburg, MD or VIPGarage in Sterling, VA. Heres the breakdown:

AMS- $1700 complete install and machine work. 1-2 week turnaround time
VIP- $1800 complete install and machine work. 1-2 week turnaround time

Both shops have great reputations, so its a tough one.
Who to choose???

 

I'd say AMS just cause it's 100 bucks cheaper.

im no evo guy...but i've heard (read) nothing but great things from ams and they're nationally know for being the go to evo guys. imo i'd go with them...but hey...what do i know

 

VIP is VERY knowledgeable on Evos. They are just as good as AMS reputation wise. Haven't had any personal experience with either yet.

Actually, VIP is awesome. I remember talking to them for a week straight trying to decide what clutch to get. They had no problems talking to me and helping me out. VIP is great and that's who I'll be going to to get my work done next summer.

 

I think you are confusing them with AMS in Chicago (the ones with the fastest and highest HP evos).

But to answer OP questions...both are good shop...I have dealt with VIP and recommend them...very professional and a great group of guys.

 

I think you might be refering to the AMS in Illionos, not that there is anything wrong with the AMS located in Maryland.
