Shamrock Marathon is March 17-18 at the Oceanfront/boardwalk.

A few of us have discussed it and we're thinking of maybe running in the marathon that weekend. I don't think any of us are in shape to actually run in the marathon (26.2 miles), but they have an 8k (4.97 miles) run from the beach to VMSM and back again, basically. Something like that.

You can register at the website above. If you register before the 15th, the 8k is $40. After that, it's $50. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but I know a few of you out there are fitness freaks and like to run, etc.

Anybody else interested? I think onebadk1tty and blah have expressed a little interested. The only thing is that the 8k starts at 8am on that Saturday ...

I would consider the 8K, but I'm not in shape anymore do be attempting a marathon.

 

I'll follow you in a golf cart drinking beer to keep the press at bay.

 

I'm seriously considering doing it too. I think it'd be a lot of fun. And I'm even more out of shape than you guys. I don't mind brining up the rear.

8k is a little rough for this old man...hmmmm..that would take about 35-40 mins? Maybe its not to rough

 

That's between a 7 and 8 min. mile which isn't half bad if you really are a rough old man. ha
