.... i wsa just submitting the idea, because when i came in under a congressional , i was a resident of florida, and the NC senator took my case...I dont know to much of how it works, but im sure if an orginization is put together on our end, and we submit some pretty solid stuff to whoever va rep is , then it would at least be considered.... the only thing is , we would have to control the stupidity that happens every weekend..... and that would be the hardest part ya know..... i dont know man, im just not used to this illegal to hang out in a parking lot shit...down in florida, cars and bikes by the 1000's meet up all the time, in orlando anyways, and the ONLY time cops come thru, is to check the registrations on bikes to make sure there not stolen....i would like to see something worked out though, so whatever I can do to help, if anyone has idea, just let me know

But I mean think about it, The cop's are trying to enforce Street Racing to end forever. Honestly, It will never happen. Car Enthusiast who dump most of their paycheck into there vehicle to see if they can beat there friend with the new modification's the car has, is obviously going to want to run. Since there isn't a track to run at. They use the street's as one. There has to be some street for people to run where as the cops can block off the streets, and let us have at it. There is a perfectly good road behind the airport that could be shut down at night, seeing as no body goes on it late at night. It's just if the Police Department want's to put an end to streetracing, they have to do more than just pull people over and Kick us out of places we gather.

i think in order to have a spot to hangout, there needs to be some benifit to the property owner or the city its self.
thats hard to do since people wont take it serisously and itd be hard as hell to organize something like that, and not to mention boring.
but thats what would get "car enthusiests" a good name.

As I stated in another thread, if you want to be able to hang out and control the atmosphere, get written permission from a property owner, then get a permit for public assembly on fridays and saturdays (or whatever days you have worked out from the property owner) and then hire a sheriff's deputy or two to keep the peace.
You do that and establish a regular, orderly and legal meet-up, and you'll be suprised how cooperative the authorities can be.
