Is this part-time or full-time or both? I have 1 year computer repair experience(ATC @VB), around 8 years of hands on computer experience, and I have 2 semesters of IT (databasing/systems analysis) experience for a Fortune 300 company. I start going back to ODU at the end of August and need a part time job.

We tend to work with college students as employees so that's nothing new. We would prefer a fulltimer but parttime will likely work. I'm sure we can see fit to a couple part-time positions.

Just apply online.

I'm interested in the upgrades job. I haven't worked with hands on computer repair in a couple years and I know technology changes fairly quick. I had an A+ computer repair certification about 4 years ago but I really forgot a lot of it. What type of repair exp is needed and do you guys train?

Upgrades is a department isn't difficult and you pick up on it real quick. It's much the same concept of previous technology with with faster speeds, newer interfaces, and new standards. It however encompasses a lot of networking product so you will definitely have some more complicated questions coming from customers regarding networking solutions. The product is the easiest stuff to know, the more challenging part will be how to translate that product into the customer's needs.

We train each other. We make it our duty to correct each as well when we're wrong. Monthly training is provided through the company. As well as vendors sometimes come in to offer more specific training on select products.

The upgrades job is a sales job though in case you are interpreting it as a repair job. Repair experience is not necessary because of that. In fact, certifications mean nothing to me. I've met some people with no certifications that were smarter than the guy with 5 certs. Also I've met someone with tons of certifications that remembered nothing. Just prove that you know your stuff, that's all.

Lol yeah certs really mean nothing to me either. I was required to take the cert exam for my final exam in HS and it was free. I never picked up my certificate and I think it's expired already anyway. I'll def apply sometime soon, thanks man.

edit:
On the website the only part-time positions available are cashier/cust service & comm team member. Which one entails upgrades?

Apply for any of the job positions you see available. Our positions list has not been updated... sorry.

Once you applied then send me your full name via PM so I can locate your application. It makes no matter what you applied to actually, I will just pull up the application either way.

I didn't get an opportunity to check anyone's application today. I was a bit busy... and stressed with some tasks for today. Will look into it ASAP.
