ok i have my paper written and i just found out i have to cite ALL direct quotes.... now how do you cite them? i dont know what to put or where to put it. all help is greatly appreciated. thnx in advance.

I can't believe you asked for this on DragVa... Ali's got you covered though. You can either do footnotes or a citation end page, whatever floats your boat. However, I'd ask my professor what he/she preferred as any little thing can help.

 

It's because I'm ridiculously smart. I then looked and realized it's probably for HS and he probably doesn't even have to really format it. Can't hurt to get a glance at it though.

 

You might want to ask your professor. I'm in college and in every single class that I've taken where I've had to site sources they wanted it in MLA guidlines. It's pretty easy.

 

MLA in text citations are pretty easy. Just be careful with your periods

Its pretty easy, do a MLA works cited page, and if you cite something from that source in your paper finish the sentence with (Author 99). Period goes after the parenthesis, and no period at the end fo the sentence. The second number is the page number obviously. And if you quote the same author twice in a row, the second tiem you only need the page number. For a research paper, theoretically you can cite every sentence, because it has all been researched.
