I have lost all hope, I have an 91 EF in pretty decent condition, but for some reason I keep blowing & destroying these little bastards (single-cams that is). 4 motors trashed...1st one (stock 1.5): crank destroyed, couldn't get the harmonic balancer back on...trashed, 2nd one (mini me swap): threw a rod after a week & a half...trashed, 3rd one (1.6 out of a 00 Civic): blew head-gasket twice...trashed) 4th one: kept running hot, replaced the whole cooling system, ran good for a few days afterwards, next thing you know, theres white smoke and oil leaking from my head...still thinking about trashing it.

I know people who have single-cams boosted and in the wind, but im just wondering if there not for me, Im not at all a bad driver and Ive seen people push there single-cams way harder than me.

I'm not looking for negative feedback, I'm just asking you what you would do if you were in my shoes...Thanks

yeah...true...but i didn't torque any of those motors
maybe i should deal with professionals...now thats a thought

 

put a srt-4 motor in the bitch and call it a day.
