5.0's stock aren't slow, for the price you can get them for, and compared to the normal cars around here you can take a good 75% of the cars you see on the street. I've raced Z28s, Civics, Turbo'd DelSols, GTIs among a few others with a fairly stock 5.0 and had no problems.

i hate to disagree with you here..but stock foxbodies are not that quick, and they definitely arent fast....when i had my turbo integra,i actually raced the mustang i own now, before i bought it,back when i was into hondas, and i destroyed him by a good amount of car lengths..and my car on the track only ran a 13.5...w/ a slipping clutch, and shitty kumho street tires...given,on the street,it was a high 12 second car...but now that i own it..i dont ever race it..it has a nice little torque factor in it when u hit the gas..but until i put all those mods on it..it will always be "second place" to my integra..but the fact of the matter is...mod for mod..the mustang will be faster.
in my integra i was hoping to run a mid to low 12..and now that i have something that can produce crazy power..if i run anything in the 12's,then i failed in my build.
