well, I'll be joining all you folks within the next few weeks. I got a decent new job offer, and I'm going to accept it. Probably gonna be living in the Yorktown/Williamsburg area. If anybody can give me a good lead on a decent apartment for a good rate, I'd very much appreciate it.

thanks.........I'm looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom, doesn't really HAVE to be YC or W'burg area I guess, but I'd like for it to be. My wife has a little less than a year left at VCU, so I was wanting something close to the middle of Richmond and Norfolk.
Anybody know how bad the commute would be from that area to North-hampton blvd ? I'll be working between there and the Navy base.

Grafton Station is a decent apt. complex. A little pricey (paying for the area). I was paying $780/mo for a 1bedroom and that included elec/gas.
I'm sure there is cheaper in YC, but probably not in Williamsburg.
The traffic on rt. 17 going south (towards NN) at around 7am sucks ass and heading towards Gloucester from about 3:00pm-7:00pm blows as well. Tons of traffic.

.The worst part about commuting down there as far as I remember is the Hampton Roads bridge tunnel. I lived down there about 3 years ago when I was in the Navy. But I usually stayed on base. I'm planning on trying to commute as early as possible, probably trying to make it to work by 7a.m. The way I see it right now, I live in D.C., so it can't be any worse, it takes me anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to travel 25 miles to work, and worse case it has taken me 3 hours
