The same people came in with no boost controller, broken wastegate, ghetto distributor, no timing covers, shitty wiring, cheap AFC, etc. I mean, the list goes on as to why people leave pissed off. How many cars in the area has shad tuned? now compare that to all the other tuners listed and he has still done more than them combined. I know its not a 50/50 ratio. So many people are happy with their tunes (or at least all the work he did). Some may not be satisfied with the power it put down, but at least he didnt tune it on the unsafe side to make that extra 3, 15, 40hp so it only lasts a month. He'll tell you what you need to do, fix, buy to make the other power you want.

I would go with Shad.

+1 again. he built and tuned my setup in my old gsr. it was an all motor setup, pretty basic and with a dc 4-1 header with the smaller collector, full exhaust made 199.6whp and 137.9wtq and prolly had a little more in it. shad is a good guy he just doesnt wanna dick around with shitty, thrown together setups and i must say i totally agree with him

riiight, i blew my motor racing john? could have sworn that motor was blown about 2 weeks before that. Ask jeremy, he knows it was smoking when i was leaving my house days before that shit happened. and we both know (well you may not because you dont know me) that i have raced out there 1 night. and yeah, i tried so hard to shed positive light on the community...i could have sworn that people asked me to speak because i presented the information the best. I took the responsibility to help where i felt i could. And who's calling who a hypocrit?

Anyways, fact is Shad tunes cars damn good. The ones that arent satisfied with their cars after the tune typically have other problems not tune related. I know this because I have been there. you think you know shit because you have heard from a guy who saw something or didnt know shit.

P.S.- to the OP, i was just curious to your reason not choosing shad. Sorry for the thread jacking. I just dont like to see him bashed for bullshit
i can vouch for this one. yes his motor was pretty much fucked weeks prior to this so called "race" i do here a lot of stories about shad but all the times i have done any business with him, hes 100% honest and tells me what will work and what wont work. what will make power and what wont. also everyone that i have heard these "stories" from have NO first hand experience with him or his work. matter of fact the last time my car was on the dyno and he was tuning it, there was a built ls vtec crx on there that was all jacked up. shad told him it was a waste of money to even try to tune it but yet the kid disagreed and was eager to get it tuned. so shad threw it on the dyno and it made shit for power because of all the problems non-tune related. just goes to show, anyone that has a shitty, thrown together setup that doesnt make power will blame the tuner because they figure tuning the car will fix all kinds of problems, but in most cases make it even worse.

Sorry, but there is NO WAY that happened.
As for everything else, call around, or stop by a shop and visit. Whomever you feel comfy with go for it.
