Looking for some sidework in Suffolk
Hey guys,
new around here, have a little problem.
I just bought a 97 Honda Civic Dx from a guy in Newport News... really got screwed over...
anyways I am trouble shooting and think i have the electrical finally nailed down to the alternator. (I had it tested at NAPA and it checked out. but its still draining the battery and flickering all my lights and such) So...
Im looking for someone to replace my alternator for me... its kindof a pain, you have to unscrew the master cylander and finesse it past... its a tight squeeze... but i have a bit of cash and will pay you to put it in for me... I think it took my cousin less than an hour to remove it, have it tested and put it back in so get back to me...
thanks
Cami

cant you cousin do it again???
and while the car is running is you battery light on????on old cars you could remove the battery terminal and it woukld stay running if the alt was working....if nothing else get a volt meter and see what at the battery....test it while revving the car up also....alt could only be charging when above idle and not charging at idle

my cousin is in richmond, i was there all week working on the car... i am back to work so no he cant do it again....
there is no battery light on... i drive it for a while and then all the lights will start to flicker.... you take the battery terminal off and it dies....
after a while the car wont start at all without a jump.... its definately draining the Brand New battery....
if you keep the rpms up the car will stay running as soon as you try to let it idle... it dies....
I dont know much about cars and even less about Hondas in general.... It has to be the alternator.. nothing else makes sense...

it sounds like its only charging when the revs are up...check for a worn alt belt...
my serpentine belt on my bmw was worn and the dealer even said it needed an alt...all it was was the damn beltit was just slipping around the pulley...not squeking or anything...check it first
also had no battery light on...and the car would die after a while...
