Well I decided to leave my job as a shift manager at subway, due to a personal reason. I am now looking for a job in the automotive field because I want to get out of the food business. I know a lot about basic vehicle maintenance - oil changes, tuneups , detailing and whatnot - and I'm looking to see if there are any shops or garages that need any help with anything.

i would go around to every dealership in your area and see if they have any openings(in just about any department your qualified for). That will atleast get your foot in the door, than you can speak the service department and find out all their requirements for their automotive technicians.
