well i was wondering what are like the best places to go to around here?? I see them not so often and don't know the greatest place to go to.

also wheres a great place to get skates sharpened or a buy a pair?

Kiln Creek area near newport news and yorktown line.

 

i have been playing ice hockey / ice skating in this area for a long time...

theres 3 places you can go right now locally.

1. MacArthur Mall is offering an outdoor rink for the winter. $5 to skate including rental.
2. Chilled Ponds over in greenbriar behind the movie theaters but its like $8.50 to skate including rentals
and finally,
3. Iceland over around witchduck and va beach blvd. the crappiest rink around here... but still ice. costs are $8 even i believe.

 

I work at the Iceplex. So my guess is Iceplex. Skate sharpening is faily cheap, 6 bucks and u can pick the edge u want. If u do bring them by for this, ask for Steve to do them.

As for buying skates. We only have a shop for Figure Skaters. My guess would be going online and ordering some, bring them buy so we can shapen them.

If u are looking to play hockey, let me know. We have alot of pick-up games going in Jan. The League is about to end here shortly but ill let ya know when the next one will be.

 

McArthur mall has it for $3 after 8pm for military. I took the whole family out the other day and it was like $15.00 with skates! 8pm-11pm..best deal in town for a casual skate.

i got a question for ya. when u buy skates how is the blade supposed to look like? flat? i never bought skates so im not sure. my friend just bought a pair and thats how the metal part looks.
